Episode 1

We Are All Running From Something

Published on: 15th December, 2020

This is Mike and I want to talk to you about running from bad things until you are ready to run to good things.

If we do, we would begin to see a lot of magic happen.

I talk a lot about running – today was a beautiful day for running.

If you are a runner you have probably heard the question, what are you running from?

The way we answer that says a lot about us

I’m going to take you back 10 years. When people used to yell out their car windows, “What are you running from, Forrest?” I would say, “I’m running from obesity.”

I was not in a good place in my life and not a good person to be around. I was a miserable person until one day I woke up and I decided to change something

I joined a gym and ended up running. Turns out that I really love running.

I ran from obesity until I got under 200 pounds and then I started running a lot more miles.

My daily miles went from 1-2 to 10 and my weekend runs with to 25-30.

When I was out there running in the wilderness, I realized that I WAS running from something. But it wasn’t bad that I was running from something, until I figured out what I wanted to run to.

I realized that I needed to keep running from something because there is something in the future

I was feeling, “I’m not worth anything. I’m just an angry miserable person.”

I need to run from this because there is something I can identify with.

I’m not a fast runner. One of the cool things about being in the back of the pack is that you learn about others and a lot of runners are running from some addiction.

I found out that a lot of people have something in their past that is painful and they want to get through it.

When that transition happens in your life and you stop running from and you start running to that is when you start living an ultra life – a life lived to the full.

That’s what I want us all to grasp. If we will continue to run from our past until we are ready to run to our potential.

The more we run, the more We will believe we are capable of something.

You begin to embrace change in your life and this leads to a better you.

Maybe you start getting up in the am and get after it. Maybe just a walk. Sign up for a race. You have just pushed past running from and you have begun believe you are worth something.

I believe that I am capable of so much more and I’m going to find my potential.

Maybe with the discipline you develop from running you learn about budgeting your money. Apply the same discipline to your money.  Or develop a relationship.

Running won’t solve all your problems. However, running to something will build in you the discipline to overcome the problems that come up in your life.

The day you discover that you are capable of so much more is the day you begin to live an ultra life.

A life brimming to the full because you know that you are capable of so much more.

Don’t stop running from until you can get through the running from and start running to.

There’s an amazing bright glorious future available to you.

Let’s live life to the full.  Let’s live an ultra life.
